At the November 2018 Presbytery and Synod meeting, voting members agreed that the existing structure of one Synod and one Presbytery in South Australia (existing since 2006) be modified to allow for more than one Presbytery.
The meeting further agreed to:
A non-geographical Presbytery (NGP) would be created to operate by 1 July, 2019
Additional Presbytery(ies) would be formed
Congregations will have an opportunity to nominate which Presbytery they wish to be part of
In order to achieve this the Standing Committee, resourced by two task groups will review the current structure and prepare recommendations for the Presbytery and Synod meeting in June 2019.

What are Presbyteries?
The Urban Mission Network comprises 34 congregations and two faith communities located in communities across South Australia and has an informal relationship with Heavens Spring Methodist Uniting Church. The aim of the Network is to encourage each other in ministry and mission, share resources and provide mutual support.
