Congregations of the Urban Mission Network gathered at Morialta on Thursday 24th May. The focus was Church and Community: Multicultural Ministries and we heard Rev Amel Manyon describe her response to God’s call to ordained ministry and the establishment of the Northern Suburbs Dinka Speaking Faith Community.
Morialta’s generosity in gifting the meal resulted in $1,000.00 being contributed to support Amel’s ministry, $778.10 given by those attending the Gathering supplemented by $221.90 from the Network.

Rev Dave Williamson, Presbytery’s Multicultural Ministries Officer, writes to us -
I want to take the opportunity to recognise the significant support and contribution the Urban Mission Network has made to the Northern Suburbs Dinka Speaking Faith Community.
Many congregations, ministers and members have committed to offer both Rev Amel Manyon and the Faith Community their support in prayer, partnership, and of course financially.
This was epitomized by the generous donation and gesture of support at the Network Gathering.
Not only was it a great opportunity for this story to be shared, but by Morialta donating the food, it allowed those present to directly donate towards this ministry.
The support of the Network and the congregations truly is an example of the people of God, doing the work of God - together.
On behalf of Amel and the Faith Community, I offer our sincere thanks and gratitude.
Much peace,
Dav
